Which Banks Are Hiring?

Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, UCO Bank, and Union Bank of India (which has not reported vacancies for this cycle).

Candidates set an order of preference among these banks in the application itself, and allotment happens strictly on merit-cum-preference. Once allotted, no change of bank is permitted under any circumstance.

State-Wise Seat Distribution

Since clerical recruitment in PSU banks is conducted on a State/UT basis, you must pick exactly one State/UT and compete for its seats. The biggest indicative indents this year:

  • Uttar Pradesh β€” 1,731 posts (highest)
  • Karnataka β€” 1,414 (Canara Bank alone: 800)
  • Maharashtra β€” 1,051
  • West Bengal β€” 946
  • Gujarat β€” 698 | Tamil Nadu β€” 675 | Madhya Pradesh β€” 570
  • Bihar β€” 491 | Punjab β€” 481 | Delhi β€” 415
  • Rajasthan β€” 392 | Assam β€” 349 | Odisha β€” 337
  • Chhattisgarh β€” 265 | Haryana β€” 196 | Telangana β€” 191 | Andhra Pradesh β€” 186
  • Jharkhand β€” 182 | Uttarakhand β€” 145 | Kerala β€” 108 | Himachal β€” 97

Smaller UTs and NE states (Goa, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura, A&N, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Puducherry, Chandigarh, etc.) have limited seats ranging from 6 to 67. Complete category-wise breakup (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/UR with HI/OC/VI/ID/ESM sub-quotas) is in Annexure-I of the PDF.

Note that your exam centre may be allotted outside your chosen State/UT for administrative reasons, but your candidature remains for the State/UT you applied under.

Who Can Apply?

Age (reckoned on 01.08.2026)

Between 20 and 28 years β€” i.e., born from 02.08.1998 to 01.08.2006, both dates included.

Upper-age concessions: SC/ST +5 years; OBC-NCL +3 years; PwBD +10 years; Ex-Servicemen get service period +3 years (capped at 50); widows and divorced/judicially separated women who haven't remarried get relaxation up to 35/38/40 years for Gen-EWS/OBC/SC-ST respectively. Caste relaxation may be clubbed cumulatively with only one other relaxation category.

Education (as on 21.08.2026)

  • Any bachelor's degree from a recognized university, with results declared on or before 21.08.2026.
  • Percentage must be entered to two decimals; CGPA holders must convert per university norms with documentary proof. 59.99% is treated below 60% β€” fractions are not rounded up.
  • Working knowledge of computers is compulsory β€” either a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations, or Computer/IT as a study subject at school or college level.
  • Proficiency (read, write, speak, understand) in the local language of the chosen State/UT is expected β€” see the LLPT section below.
  • Relaxed norms for matriculate Ex-Servicemen holding the Army Special Certificate (or Navy/Air Force equivalent) with 15 years of service.

Citizenship

Indian citizens; subjects of Nepal or Bhutan; pre-1962 Tibetan refugees; and persons of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries β€” the latter categories need a Government of India eligibility certificate.

IBPS CSA Recruitment 2026: Bank Clerk Vacancies Announced Under CRP CSA-XVI β€” Registration Open Till 21 August

Fee Structure

  • β‚Ή175 β€” SC, ST, PwBD, ESM/DESM
  • β‚Ή850 β€” General, OBC, EWS

Online payment only (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets, IMPS). Non-refundable. Correcting the form later through the Edit Window costs an additional β‚Ή200 for every category.

Test Structure Explained

Phase 1 β€” Preliminary (100 marks, 60 minutes)

Three separately-timed sections of 20 minutes each:

  1. English Language β€” 30 questions, 30 marks
  2. Numerical Ability β€” 35 questions, 35 marks
  3. Reasoning Ability β€” 35 questions, 35 marks

Sectional cut-offs apply; prelims only shortlists candidates and its score plays no role in the final merit.

Phase 2 β€” Mains (200 marks, 125 minutes)

SectionQsMarksDuration
General/Financial Awareness405020 min
General English404035 min
Reasoning Ability406035 min
Quantitative Aptitude405035 min

Sections are not necessarily delivered in this sequence. Minimum scores are required both section-wise and overall.

Negative marking: ΒΌ mark per wrong answer in both phases. Blank responses carry no penalty.

Merit basis: Mains marks alone, scaled out of 100. Equal scores are ranked by age (elder first). Scores across shifts are equalized via the equi-percentile normalization method.

Question paper languages: English and Hindi everywhere, plus the regional language(s) mapped to your State/UT β€” Telugu for Andhra Pradesh, Tamil for Tamil Nadu, Kannada for Karnataka, Marathi/Konkani for Maharashtra, Bengali for West Bengal, and so on. The English version prevails in case of any translation discrepancy.

Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT)

After qualifying Mains/provisional allotment but before joining, candidates undergo a marks-based qualifying language test in the language opted from Annexure-III (e.g., Telugu/Urdu for AP & Telangana, Hindi/Urdu for UP & Bihar, Punjabi/Hindi for Punjab).

Exemption: Producing a 10th-class or higher marksheet proving you studied that language waives the test entirely. Failing the LLPT means disqualification β€” no appointment letter is issued.

What Will You Earn?

The CSA pay scale is 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. That means a starting basic of β‚Ή24,050 rising through increments to β‚Ή64,480 at the top of the scale, over and above DA, HRA and other allowances as per the allotted bank's rules β€” placing the in-hand starting salary well above the basic figure.

Registration Walkthrough

  1. Open www.ibps.in β†’ CRP CSA β†’ "Apply Online for CRP-CSA-XVI".
  2. Complete New Registration; save the provisional registration number and password sent by email/SMS.
  3. Keep scanned files ready before you start:
    • Passport-style colour photo, 20–50 KB (plus a live webcam/phone capture during the form)
    • Signature in black ink, 10–20 KB β€” never in capitals
    • Left thumb impression, 20–50 KB
    • One-line handwritten declaration in English (running hand), 50–100 KB
    • 10th class certificate as PDF under 500 KB
  4. Fill every field with care. Name, email, mobile, State/UT choices, post, and nationality are locked permanently after submission β€” the Edit Window cannot touch them.
  5. Record your bank preference order and LLPT language β€” both irreversible.
  6. Pay the fee, download the e-receipt, and print the final application for your records. Nothing is to be posted to IBPS.

Applying early is strongly advised; last-day server load is a known risk and IBPS accepts no responsibility for failed submissions.

Verification Documents Checklist

Keep originals plus self-attested copies of: the application printout, DOB proof, a valid photo ID (PAN, Passport, Aadhaar, Voter ID, permanent DL β€” ration cards and learner's licenses are rejected), graduation marksheets, local-language marksheet (for LLPT waiver), caste certificate (OBC-NCL certificates must be dated on or after 01.04.2026), EWS income-asset certificate valid for 2026-27, District Medical Board disability certificate where applicable, Ex-Servicemen Proformas A–D, and an employer NOC if you are already in government/PSU service.

Rules Candidates Often Miss

  • One application only. Duplicate registrations forfeit earlier fees; only the latest completed form survives.
  • Scribes must be pre-declared in the form, hold a qualification one step lower than yours, and can serve only one candidate; violations cancel both candidatures.
  • Scribe users and eligible PwBD/VI candidates get 20 minutes of compensatory time per exam hour β€” but only if registered for it in advance.
  • Photographs: keep 8 identical copies of the uploaded photo; you'll need them at multiple stages, and changing your appearance mid-process can disqualify you.
  • Barred items at centres include phones, watches, calculators, jewellery, belts, caps and even packed food/water bottles β€” no safekeeping is provided.
  • The Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 applies: offences are cognizable, non-bailable and non-compoundable. IBPS additionally runs response-pattern analytics to catch answer sharing and impersonation.
  • Preliminary exam call letters are stamped and returned to you β€” preserve them, as Mains entry requires the authenticated prelims call letter and ID copy.
  • Twin/triplet status must be declared in the form; concealment counts as suppression of material facts.
  • All disputes fall under Mumbai courts' jurisdiction.

Exam Cities for Andhra Pradesh Applicants

Preliminary: Ananthapur, Chirala, Guntur/Vijayawada, Kadapa, Kakinada, Kurnool, Nellore, Ongole, Rajahmundry, Tirupati, Vishakhapatnam, Vizianagaram. Main: Guntur/Vijayawada, Kurnool, Vishakhapatnam, Vizianagaram.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is CRP CSA the same as IBPS Clerk? Yes β€” the clerical cadre post has been renamed Customer Service Associate; the recruitment framework is the same annual CRP.

How long does the result stay valid? CRP CSA-XVI expires one year after provisional allotment, or when the next allotment is made, whichever is earlier. A reserve list of about 30% of vacancies may run for that year.

Do prelims marks count in the merit list? No. Final merit is prepared solely from Mains marks (converted to 100).

Where do I raise a complaint? Through the IBPS grievance portal at cgrs.ibps.in.
